Free 2-tangles from the point of view of c-Heegaard splittings

We study meridional destabilizing number of knots with a free 2-tangle and also a 3-bridgelike tangle, which is defined in this paper. As an application, we show that the meridional destabilizing number of Morimotoʼs knot is two.
