Abstract :
To understand the detailed mechanism of multi-dimensional barrier tunneling, numerical simulations are performed for the scattering process of a simple class of 2-degrees of freedom systems. It is demonstrated that the phase-eigenstate of the harmonic oscillator is very useful to visualize the Poincaré section of the scattering eigenstate. By using the phase-eigenstate representation, it is confirmed that the enhancement of the coupling between two degrees of freedom causes remarkable interference patterns on the tunneling wave.
