Abstract :
Learning styles are an individualʹs "natural, habitual and preferred ways" of absorbing and processing a second language. The area of research in learning style has gained popularity in English Language Teaching (ELT) over the last two decades. The reason for such popularity is the efforts made by the theoreticians and practitioners to take account for learner differences in foreign language learning efficiency. The purpose of the current review paper is to first define the styles conceptually from different viewpoints and then the various models of styles are explained and finally the significance of learning style research in Second Language Acquisition is briefly elaborated upon.
