Abstract :
This study investigated the relation between English language learnersʹ attitudes toward target culture and their achievement in language learning. The participants of this study were 100 intermediate students (male) of Kish Language Institute of Isfahan, Iran. They were selected to complete a questionnaire reflecting their idea towards English culture. The questionnaire was administered to all students to see if there was any relationship between their attitude and success. After completing the questionnaire, Pearson correlation squares was used to examine the correlation between two variables. Findings of this study revealed that there is a positive relation between studentsʹ attitudes toward target culture and their achievement in foreign language learning. Based on the results, it may be suggested that teachers should respect the students’ attitudes and their affective features should be taken into consideration. To develop favorable attitude towards target culture affective aims and activities should be placed in the curriculum.
