Abstract
The effect of perturbation on a network of clusters of catalytic sites is studied. Each cluster is connected with its immediate neighbours through migration of the chemisorbed species. Initially, all the clusters of the network are assumed to be operating in the same steady state: an unstable node, a saddle point, an unstable focus, a stable node, or a stable focus. Upon perturbation in the central cluster of the network, spatio-temporal patterns of concentrations of the species evolve when the system is initiated either from a saddle point, from an unstable node, or from an unstable focus, while in the case of a stable focus or a stable node, the system converges to the uniform state.
