Asymptotic recurrence in semiflows with an application to delay-differential equations

We show, using classical results, that for a semiflow on a metric space, any point whose orbit has compact closure has a type of asymptotic weak recurrence property. We apply this to a nonlinear delay-differential equation which has been used as a model for population variations of a single species.
