Abstract :
This paper deals with the synthesis and characterization of SiO2 by sol-gel method and its characterization by Surface area analyzer, X-rays diffractometry, FTIR spectroscopy, Scanning electron microscopy and Energy dispersive X-rays spectroscopy. The silica gel formed in this study was found to be amorphous in nature. FTIR analysis revealed that all the required bands were observed which were indicative of the successful synthesis of silica particles.
