Abstract :
More than 75 percent of the total dental materials and equipments are directly or indirectly used for fabricating and providing prosthodontic restorations placed in the oro-facial structures of patients. among the wide range of these materials are included metal alloys, polymeric and ceramic composites. glasses, hydroxy-apatites, reinforced carbons including the low and ultra-low-temperature carbons and investments and finding materials. in addition. the fabrication of oro-dental restorations front these materials requires the use of technologles including conventional and injection moulding and packing, molten metal casting. super-plastic flowing, sintering, ceraming and recently the more advanced CAD-CAM methods and systems. The main concern, in all these. so for has been develop biocompatible, mechanically durable materials and their precise, quick and less costly manipulations. in addition, it has also been a main concern to safeguard both the health of patients requiring these restorations as well as of the personnel involved ill manipulating these materials. These objectives are being achieved by continued exploration of the science related to materials and technique development as well a, to aspects of ensuring treatment outcome longevity, biocompatibility, cost-effectiveness and affordability, To accomplish the desired goals, dental practitioners. technicians. dental academic researchers, scientists and authorities delivering healthcare services, either at own, govenunental, intlustriail or professional /societal Ievels are engaged in research to deliver and inform the public of the discovered science in the field. A substantial role. in terms of research and development, of the dental manufacturing industry can be seen in the form of research collaborative support with practitioners and academic fuculty. in addition to their own onsite research facilities for innovation and development. However, there are multiple problems and issues faced by all involved. This has been the aim, here to deliberate upan
