Existence of weak solutions for a class of nonlinear diffusion problems

The paper concerns the existence theorem of weak solutions for the initial-boundary value problem of a nonlinear diffusion equation with convection. The equation may be regarded as a generalized non-Newtonian polytropic filtration equation. By doing the necessary B V estimate and other estimates for approximating solutions, we establish the existence theorem.
