Abstract :
The design and synthesis of ethyl 9-cis-7,8-didehydro-19-trifluoromethylretinoate was described. The key step is the Sonogashira reaction of ethyl 3-iodo-4,4,4-trifluoro-2(Z)-butenoate 2 with terminal alkyne 3.
