Abstract :
Chemical shifts, δ(19F), were recorded for solutions of LiBF4 in diethyl carbonate (DEC), dimethyl carbonate (DMC), tetrahydrofuran (THF), 1,2-dimethoxyethane (DME), γ-butyrolactone (GBL), propylene carbonate (PC) and water. The δ(19F) values of the tetrafluoroborate anion were obtained by extrapolation to infinite dilution. A correlation between δF and both dielectric constants and dipole moments of the solvents has been found.
