Abstract
Six ionic surfactants containing a perfluorooctanesulfonic anion and a positively charged ammonium in a molecule, RFSO3−N+Et3CnH2n+1 (n=2, 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12), were prepared from perfluorooctanesulfonyl fluoride, triethylamine and linear alkanol. Solution properties of triethylalkylammonium perfluorooctanesulfonates (APFOS) have been measured in terms of surface tension. The values of critical micelle concentration (cmc) decrease with an increase of N-alkyl chain length, and the logarithm of the cmc decreases linearly with increasing N-alkyl chain length (n≥6), while the negative values of standard free energy for the adsorption become larger as the N-alkyl chain length increases.
