Abstract :
The excited state spectrum of molybdenum–mononitrosyl–ferrocenyl–stilbene in DMF is studied using time resolved Kerr ellipsometry with a pump wavelength of 532 nm in resonance with the S0 (ground state) to S1 (lowest excited state) transition. Photoexcitation forms a transient charge separated state with photoreduction of the molybdenumnitrosyl group. The induced dipole change derived from six-wave-mixing (SWM)using 1064 and 532 nm wavelengths is Δμ=3.9 D (Debye). The life time of the transient state is estimated to be at least 200 ps.
