Abstract
Hydrations of OPC, OPC-FA, OPC-FA-SF and OPC-FA-SF-MK were studied by measuring water consistency, setting times, free lime, water percolation, air permeability, compressive strength and expansion in corrosive atmosphere. FTIR and DTA studies were also made on the hydrated samples. Results have shown that even 40 wt.% replacement of OPC by FA + SF + MK does not deteriorate the quality of cement. The compressive strength is higher than any of the combination even at 3 days of hydration. The pozzolanic materials act as a filler as well as increase the formation of C–S–H phase, the main glue.
