Abstract
This study evaluated the shrinkage and durability characteristics of eco-friendly fireproof high-strength concrete, a material that is resistant to explosive spalling. This type of concrete incorporates ground granulated blast furnace slag and porcelain to provide good residual compressive strength and reduce CO2 emissions by 34.6% compared to standard high-strength concrete. Plastic and drying shrinkage testing of both the mortar and concrete were conducted, and the durability of the concrete was evaluated by testing its freezing–thawing resistance, chloride ion penetration, abrasion resistance, and chemical resistance. The test results showed that the shrinkage and durability characteristics of eco-friendly fireproof high-strength concrete were as good as or slightly better than high-strength concrete mixes that use type I cement.
