Abstract :
In this study, conventional materials were used to prepare ultra-high strength mortars (UHSMs) and their stress–strain (σ–ε) characteristics in compression were investigated both experimentally and analytically. The effect of micro-fiber addition on the peak stress, peak strain, modulus of elasticity and energy absorption were then studied. Test results suggested that heat-treated UHSMs showed significantly higher strengths than non-heat-treated UHSMs. The micro-fiber addition significantly improved all the characteristics of UHSM. Both linear and non-linear correlations existed between the reinforcement indices of fibers and σ–ε characteristics of UHSM. The analytical modeling of the σ–ε curve showed good correlation with the experimental data.
