Abstract :
A series of polyhydroxylated symmetrical macrocycles has been prepared in satisfactory yield by 1:1 condensation of several bis-epoxides with various bis-nucleophiles. Preliminary results are reported, which illustrate the synthesis of crown ethers and oxa-azacrown and oxa-thiacrown compounds.
