Abstract :
High-yield regioselective syntheses of 9-[(1,3-dihydroxy-2-propoxy)methyl]guanine mono-, di- and tri-substitution derivatives as potential prodrugs were accomplished via one or multisteps. Two amino acid esters of ganciclovir were synthesized as water-soluble prodrugs, which form protonated cations in pH 7.4 phosphate buffer.
