Abstract :
A convenient synthesis of TPPDS (disodium P-phenyl-3,3′-phosphinediyl-bis(benzenesulfonate)) from triphenylphosphine is described. This represents a quick and reliable way to prepare a water-soluble phosphine with essentially no phosphine oxide formation.
