A novel synthesis of functionalised tertiary phosphines by palladium catalysed phosphination with triarylphosphines

The palladium catalysed Pd-aryl/P-aryl exchange was applied in the synthesis of various functionalised phosphines from their corresponding substituted aryl triflates using triarylphosphines as the phosphinating agents. This method tolerated many functional groups including ketone, aldehyde, ester, nitrile, methyl ether, pyridyl and chloride groups.
