Reactions of 1,3,5,2,4,6-trichalcogenatristannins and their derivatives with a nitrile oxide: synthesis, structure, and thermal behavior of oxachalcogenazastannoles

2,2,4,4,6,6-Hexamethyl-1,3,5-trithia- and 1,3,5-triselena-2,4,6-tristannins reacted with 2,4,6-tri-t-butylbenzonitrile oxide to give 2,2-dimethyl-1,3-oxathia- and 1,3,5,2-oxaselenazastannoles. The reaction of 2,2,4,4-tetra-t-butyl-1,3,2,4-dithiadistannetane with 2,4,6-tri-t-butylbenzonitrile oxide gave 2,2-di-t-butyl-1,3,5,2-oxathiazastannole. The unusual thermal behavior of the oxachalcogenazastannole is also described.
