Abstract :
The synthesis, silane functionalization, and facile silica attachment of dendritic monomers containing terminal benzyl groups are presented. For the first time, a simple one-step procedure is described that leads to the in situ creation of a surface-bonded sol-gel dendritic stationary phase on the inner walls of a fused silica capillary; such phases showed unique selectivities in high-resolution capillary gas chromatography.
