Abstract :
A synthesis of substituted 1,3-tetrahydropyrimidinones 8 starting from homochiral synthon 2 is described. Chemoselective reduction of pyrimidines 4 using BH3·THF provides an access to regioselective N-protected tetrahydropyrimidinones 8.
