Abstract :
Formal total synthesis of enantiopure (−)-TAN1251A, a muscarinic M1 receptor antagonist, was achieved via a spirocyclic carbonnitrogen bond formation by the use of aromatic oxidation with bis(acetoxy)iodobenzene as a key step.
