Abstract :
FeCl3·6H2O and ZrCl4 efficiently promote the biomimetic-like cyclization of geraniol and farnesol epoxides, yielding the corresponding endo mono- and bicyclic olefins, respectively, in reasonable yields and with complete positional control.
