Abstract :
A convenient method for the synthesis of 2-[4′-dimethylaminophenyl]-3-aryl-β-carbolinium phenylsulfonates from the corresponding 2-N′-aryliminomethylene-3-β-arylvinylindoles by thermal oxidative cyclization is reported.
