Abstract :
Desymmetrisation of 3-(t-butyldimethylsilyloxy)pentanedial 2 may be carried out by monoacetalisation with (R)- or (S)-2-phenylethanol. The products may be elaborated to nor-methyl mevaldate derivatives.
