Abstract :
Synthesis of the FGHI ring domain of azaspiracids, the causative agents for a new type of shellfish poisoning, azaspiracid poisoning (AZP), has been achieved. The synthesis features dithiane anion–epoxide coupling for convergent fragment assembly.
