Abstract :
Treatment of 4,4-biphenyldiboronic acid with suitably substituted iodo-m-terphenyls provide easy access to the precursors for the synthesis of two rigid m-terphenyl derivatives bearing, H-bonding groups, for potential use as tectons in crystal engineering.
