Abstract :
The effect of adding 1 equiv. of an amine or 0.2 equiv. of CuI to a Pd/In bimetallic cascade reaction is described. In the class 1 cascade reaction of aldehydes, aryl iodides and allene, generating homoallylic alcohols, the reaction time is reduced from 16 to 2 h and is accompanied by an impressive increase in yield.
