Abstract :
Regio- and stereoselective glycosidation of the C-3 hydroxyl of methyl 4,6-O-benzylidene-α-d-glucopyranoside and methyl 4,6-O-benzylidene-α-d-galactopyranoside, via formation of the respective copper chelate, is described.
