Abstract :
New, improved conditions for Z selective Horner–Wadsworth–Emmons olefinations with Andoʹs bis(o-methylphenyl)phosphonates are reported. A combination of NaH and NaI affords Z olefins in up to >99:1 selectivity and good yields.
