Abstract :
Phase transformations in systems Ti1.5Al–NH3 and Ti2Al–NH3 are investigated under ammonia pressure of 1.5 MPa within the temperature range of 100–500 °C in the presence of NH4Cl as an activator. Hydronitriding of the alloys Ti1.5Al and Ti2Al performed at 400 °C is accompanied by formation of superfine hydridonitride phases of the intermetallides TiAl and Ti3Al with the particle sizes less than 1 micron.
