Abstract
The mesoporous nickel-containing TiO2 (anatase) nanocomposites with specific surface area of 94 m2 g−1, pore volume 0.21 cm3 g−1, pore diameter 3.2 nm and crystallite size within 9–10 nm, were prepared. Testing of the mesoporous nickel-containing nanocomposites as materials for proton pump electrodes has shown that their electrical characteristics are comparable to those of the industrial nickel–molybdenum–alumina catalyst. It was demonstrated that the mesoporous structure of TiO2 matrix and nickel content in the sample influence the catalytic activity of Ni/TiO2 material. The produced mesoporous nickel-containing TiO2 nanocomposites are promising as materials for high-temperature fuel cell electrodes, as well as catalysts of hydrogen cleavage in hydrogenation processes.
