Simple safety device for protection of single crystal working electrodes and other electrochemical equipment

This communication describes a simple safety device that is used to protect expensive electrochemical equipment, such as single crystal electrodes against harmful polarizations due to firmware malfunctions or operator errors as well as power outages. The device can be constructed by a non-expert in electronics using easily available components.
