Abstract :
In the present study a sensor based on electrodeposition of PtNPs under ultrasonic irradiation on the ZrO2 nanoparticles modified carbon paste electrode (Pt-ZONPs/CPE) was fabricated and used for the electro-oxidation of sumatriptan (SUM). Surface morphology and electrochemical properties of the prepared nanocomposite modified electrode were investigated by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), cyclic voltammetry and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy techniques. The hydrodynamic amperometry at rotating modified electrode at constant potential versus reference electrode was used for detection of SUM. Under optimized conditions, the calibration plot was linear in the concentration range of 10 nM to 55 μM and detection limit was found to be 3 nM. The proposed sensor was successfully applied for the determination of SUM in human serum and tablet samples.
