Abstract
Using a formalism of nonrelativistic electromagnetic fluctuation theory, general formulae are obtained for dynamic conservative and dissipative drag forces on atom moving parallel to a cylindrical surface (either convex or concave). Similarly to a case of flat surface, a finite nonvanishing velocity-proportional friction force on neutral atom is expected to act even at zero temperature. A case of interaction between an atom and a thin thread is considered, too.
