Abstract :
Isotope shift Δσ (160Dy–164Dy) in 40 spectral lines of neutral dysprosium atom (Dy I) are reported in the region 3400–3865 Å; no earlier study of isotope shift in Dy I spectrum exists in this region. The studies were carried out on a photoelectric recording Fabry-Perot spectrometer and highly enriched isotopic samples of 160Dy and 164Dy. Using the present data, the level isotope shift, ΔT (160Dy–164Dy), have been evaluated for 27 even and three odd parity high lying energy levels of Dy I. 4f95d6s6p configuration have been suggested for six even parity levels in the 35 000–40 400 cm−1 region.
