Abstract
The structure of a Pd(320) [3(110)×(100)] surface has been determined by low energy electron diffraction (LEED). A model consistent with an unreconstructed bulk truncated surface with relaxation of the first six interlayer spacings normal to the macroscopic (320) surface and local differential relaxation of step edge atoms has been considered.
anges in the first five interlayer spacings were found to be −15% (−0.08 Å), −9% (−0.05 Å), −6% (−0.03 Å), +15% (+0.08 Å) and +6% (+0.03 Å).
