Abstract :
We investigated triple-walled carbon nanotube resonators with short middle- and outer-walls via classical molecular dynamics methods. Their resonance frequencies could be changed by controlling the lengths of the middle- or outer-walls, and modeled by two-dimensional Gaussian function within the specific regions as functions of the lengths of the short middle- and outer-walls. Bandwidths achieved by changing middle-wall’s lengths were higher than those achieved by changing outer-wall’s lengths. Such a property can lead triple-walled carbon nanotube resonators with different middle- and outer-walls to serve key component in gigahertz frequency modulation.
