Abstract :
Experimental and theoretical studies have been conducted on the separation of fine particles using several types of cyclones. Pressure drop of Iinoyaʹs type cyclone, which has double conical sections, is found to be about 10% lower than that of the conventional cyclone. les were deposited mainly on the lower conical section where cross-sectional area is minimum. The results were also simulated by numerical calculation. perimental results of partial separation efficiency for Iinoyaʹs and conventional cyclones agreed with calculated results. In order to reduce the amount of large particles into fine side, the cyclone with a conical section and a partially converging double cone type, showed better a performance compared to other cyclones.
