Abstract :
In this work, the poly(methyl methacrylate) PMMA grafted into the porous silicon by three different methods: dip coating, spin coating and spreading method has been studied. For this purpose, Fourier transform-infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) have been carried out to evaluate the surface modification.
S spectrum shows the presence of peaks attributed to the carbon and oxygen, which are the principal constituents of the PMMA polymer. Moreover, the FT-IR spectroscopy has detected the existence of specific interactions, especially a stronger hydrogen bending which is suspected to occur between the hydroxyl groups present at the surface of the porous silicon substrate and the carbonyl groups of the polymeric chains.
ition, SEM observations show that the morphology of the PMMA macromolecular chains strongly depends on the deposition–coating method.
