Abstract
Silver iodomolybdates are under investigation in order to define a transport model for AgI-based oxide glasses. In this paper we report a preliminary EXAFS study on a glass of composition 0.66AgI:0.33Ag2MoO4. The EXAFS Fourier transform shows two peaks that are attributed to the coordination with oxygen (Ag–O distance 2.38(1) Å, coordination number 1.5(3)) and iodine (Ag–I distance 2.830(5) Å, coordination number 1.5(3)), respectively. The present coordination numbers confirm our previous 109Ag NMR results.
