Abstract :
The theoretical relationships between the terminal voltage (V) and external current (I) of a solid-oxide thermocell using oxide ion–electron mixed conductors were derived based on Wagnerʹs theory. The electrical transport parameters of Y2Ti2O7 were used to calculate the theoretical V–I characteristics. A mixed discharge region, where the partial currents of the oxide ions and electronic carriers flow in the same direction, appeared under an air atmosphere.
