Abstract :
The work presents the results of investigations of electrical properties of the LiNi1−yCoyO2 system (y=0, 0.25, 0.5, 0.85) in a wide temperature range (300–1073 K) and oxygen pressures ranging from 10−4 to 1 atm. It was found that the replacement of nickel by cobalt in LiNi1−yCoyO2 eliminates the presence of a disadvantageous phase transition observed in LiNiO2 and reduces “cations mixing” phenomenon. However, for cobalt content y≫0.25 there is a significant deterioration of transport properties related to a drop in the effective carriers concentration.
