Abstract
The paper presents the goal of measurement modelling of experimental impedance spectra, as the first step of analysis of a set of impedance spectra of a system measured at several values of a system variable. The main types of the simplest measurement models possible, including the traditional one, are reviewed, and their features are discussed. Special attention is paid to the topological and solutionʹs ambiguities of the electrical equivalent circuit models. The application of an appropriate mathematical function as a measurement model is advocated. Also, fundamentals of the fitting of the chosen hypothetical measurement model to a given experimental spectrum, as a relevant method of its validation, are outlined, and the necessity of using statistical weights in the fitting is stressed.
