Abstract
The samples of LiMn2O4 − ySy obtained by sol–gel method followed by calcination at 650 °C were tested as cathode in Li-Ion cells. Sulphur substitution resulted in improvement of the cell cyclability in comparison to the unsulphided Li–Mn spinels. The fine grains of the LiMn2O4 − ySy spinels were covered by carbon conductive layer (CCL) using precipitation polimerization followed by calcination. Such a modification improved chemical stability of the CCL-Spinel composite towards electrolyte up to about 50 °C higher temperature than observed for uncovered spinels.
