Abstract :
This paper reports on the activating effect of various acidic and basic compounds on the formation of naphthalimide ring. A kinetic study of imidization reaction was performed on model compounds using 19F NMR spectroscopy analysis. On the other hand, efficiency of some activating agents for the synthesis of a polyimide prepared from 1,4,5,8-naphtalene tetracarboxilic dianhydride (NTDA) and 2,2-bis-[4-(4-aminophenoxy)phenyl]-hexafluoropropane (BAPHF) was evaluated.
