Dynamics and active control of motion of a particle in a φ6 potential with a parametric forcing

Bifurcation and control of motion of a particle in a parametrically excited φ6 system are considered. The amplitude of the harmonic oscillations, the frontiers separating different types of motion and the criteria for the Melnikov chaos are analyzed. The effects of an active control of the system are also obtained.
