Abstract
The heat transfer and aerodynamics of copper tubes with cellular finning in an air cross-flow are experimentally investigated. Dimensionless correlations for heat transfer and hydraulic resistance are constructed. It is shown that, with the same power supplied for pumping the coolant, a tubular surface with cellular finning is more effective than the one with round solid fins.
